• 25th October - The Doctor witnesses the Charge of the Light Brigade, which he remembers as a "magnificent folly." It may be while witnessing this event that the Doctor sustained a wound which still bothered him in his third incarnation. (DW: The Evil of the Daleks," The Sea Devils)

• Unknown date - James Clerk Maxwell begins his studies of electromagnetism, upon which Theodore Maxtible and Edward Waterfield base their own experiments. (DW: The Evil of the Daleks)
