• Captain Scott leaves Cardiff for an expedition to the Antarctic. It would take him two years to get there. Tommy Brockless, then 16, would later recall that all the papers were covering the story. (TW: To the Last Man)

• The Doctor witnesses earth tremors in Peru. (MA: The English Way of Death)
• At some point during the second decade of the 20th century, two English schoolboys, Millington and Judson, become friends - the former would reach the rank of Commodore in the British Navy, the latter became a brilliant professor in advanced mathematics. Despite many years of friendship, the relationship would become bitter, reaching a peak when both were assigned to work at a base in Maiden's Point during World War II. (DW: The Curse of Fenric)
