Years of interest

The 41st century saw significant conflict between humanity and the Daleks, (TV: The Daleks’ Master Plan, AUDIO: The House of Kingdom, COMIC: The Only Good Dalek) marking the beginning of the Great War which lasted over a millennium. (PROSE: The Evil of the Daleks)

In 4000, the First Doctor became involved with the Space Security Service's investigation into the Daleks and the Guardian of the Solar System, Mavic Chen. They uncovered a plot by the Daleks and their allies to destroy the Solar System with the Time Destructor, which was being assembled on the planet Kembel. After a long struggle, the Doctor and SSS agent Sara Kingdom managed to warn Earth and turn the Destructor against the Dalek forces on Kembel, destroying them and devastating the planet. (TV: The Daleks' Master Plan) This sparked the Great War. (PROSE: The Evil of the Daleks) The SSS fought against the Daleks, though at one point let a planet fall to them to safeguard their intelligence source. (AUDIO: The House of Kingdom) The Daleks also invaded the Galactic Federation. (PROSE: Legacy)

During this time period, humanity also came into conflict with Daleks from a much later point in their history, the New Dalek Paradigm. The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond arrived on Station 7 shortly before it was attacked by the Paradigm in their search for "the Abomination". (COMIC: The Only Good Dalek)

After the death of Mavic Chen, a dynasty of his descendants persisted which slowly transformed the relatively democratic Galactic Federation into a new incarnation of the old Earth Empire. (PROSE: The Crystal Bucephalus)

Some years after the SSS’ Dalek war, (AUDIO: The House of Kingdom) Anya Kingdom was an active member of the SSS. Under the persona of Ann Kelso, she used experimental time travel and manipulated the Fourth Doctor to dismantle the Syndicate, the remnants of the Daleks’ failed alliance, prompting him to abandon her. (AUDIO: The False Guardian, Time’s Assassin, The Perfect Prisoners) She subsequently worked with Mark Seven. (AUDIO: The Dalek Contract, Queen of the Mechonoids) Mark began investigating George Sheldrake, who claimed to have invented reliable time travel, and his ship was brought down on Mira. When she went to retrieve him, Anya encountered the Tenth Doctor who had been suddenly transported there and he agreed to help their investigation. (AUDIO: Buying Time) Though the meddling of the Nun diverted their investigation, the Doctor was able to avert temporal disaster she and Sheldrake inadvertently caused. Afterwards the Doctor attempted to use the SSS' time machine to return to his TARDIS, however a Dalek intercepted its time bubble and destroyed the machine, stranding him in this century. (AUDIO: The Wrong Woman) He, Anya and Mark subsequently went in search of the time machine's inventor, Arborecc, who had disappeared. (AUDIO: The House of Kingdom, Cycle of Destruction) They tracked him down to Beltros Station and discovered his involvement in Major McLinn's plan to turn humans into fake Daleks, including Arborecc himself. (AUDIO: The Trojan Dalek) The Doctor and Anya, after being briefly stranded in a pocket universe, attempted to return to the main universe via a space-time event but wound up in the 46th century. (AUDIO: The Lost)

Galactic Council 3

The Daleks address the Galactic Council. (TV: The Daleks' Master Plan)

The Tenth Doctor freed a group of human colonists forced to live like cavemen on their colony world that had been captured by aliens and turned into the Wumba's World of Wild safari park. (COMIC: Save the Humans!)

An army of Cybermen, which had been created by an info-thief who had stolen files from the Torchwood Archive, invaded the planet Centuria. The Tenth Doctor defeated them. (COMIC: The Power of the Cybermen, Drones of Doom, Enemy Mine, Time of the Cybermen)

An obscure cult, whose members believed in scarring their faces, operated from the moons of Jupiter. One potent weapon during the City of the Saved Civil War was a ritual dagger from this cult. (PROSE: The Queen of Clubs)

Devela infected the Traffic Control system of Metrolos with a virus that disrupted the traffic flow to try to gain insurance money, however, he was stopped by the Eleventh Doctor, Amy, and Rory. (COMIC: Road Rage)

By one account, the Siege of Trenzalore had begun in the 41st century. (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters)

Behind the scenes[]

The Dalek Handbook claims that Operation Human Factor and the resultant Dalek Civil War on Skaro took place in the 41st century following the Time Destructor Incident, also being the point of origin of the space capsule which crashed on Vulcan prior to the 21st century. After this, the Dalek hierarchy was altered with grey Daleks replacing the silver Daleks as drones. This new version of the Dalek Empire would use time travel to go back an attempt to overwrite history in their favour; following the failure of the Time Paradox Incident, they would successfully embed themselves in the 26th century and beyond, influencing the Dalek Wars.
