A Visit from Saint Nicholas was the third short story in the Short Trips anthology Short Trips: Christmas Around the World. It was written by Lisa Miles. It featured the Third Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith.
In the mansion, Clement C. Moore is unable to sleep, so he gets out of bed and heads to his study to work on his paper. On his way back to bed he hears a noise outside and sees a miniature sled, pulled by reindeer and driven by an old man.
Clement watches as the old man comes through the chimney and proceeds to leave gifts for the children. Before the man leaves, he winks at Clement.
Clement heads back to the study and begins writing.
Meanwhile, on the lawn, the Doctor introduces Sarah to Saint Nicholas.
- Sarah wants to go to Rockefeller Center or Times Square.
- Moore is trying to write a paper on Notes for a New Work on a Greek Lexicon.
- Saint Nicholas leaves a rag doll, a toy trumpet, nuts and coins.
