Aggedor was a significant creature from Peladon.

[edit] Physical Characteristics

The Aggedors were large, powerful creatures, like bears with the heads of boars. They had bony heads with a single horn on their forehead. They also had powerful tusks and sharp claws. (DW: The Curse of Peladon, The Monster of Peladon) Since they lived in the caves of Peladon, they had poor eyesight and relied more on their sense of smell. (NA: Legacy)

Aggedors could be hypnotised by the use of flashing lights or music. (DW: The Curse of Peladon, NA: Legacy) They could also be trained in the normal way. (DW: The Curse of Peladon)

[edit] Cultural significance

The Aggedor was considered to a sacred symbol of Peladon. A symbol of nobility and power, Aggedor was the protector of the Peladonian king and the guardian of all of Peladon. His face was found on most things on the planet. The Temple to Aggedor was a sacred place and the punishment for defiling the temple was death. (NA: Legacy)

[edit] History

The Aggedors were originally hunted by the Peladonians, who used their fur to trim their clothes. Eventually, they became more important and were eventually worshipped as a type of god.

In reality, there were still Aggedors living deep in the mountains of Peladon. High Priest Hepesh was able to find one and tried to use him to scare away the ambassadors from the Galactic Federation. (DW: The Curse of Peladon)
