The Ajax Saloon and Fandango House was located in Ajax Camp in California. It was owned by Job Clemens.

Most of the townspeople drank watered-down whiskey at the saloon. Unknown to them, the water was controlled by an alien from Saturn. Those who drank the whiskey became possessed.

Clemens hired Lola Montez, the dancer, to perform at the saloon. She brought her pianist, Walter Crabtree, with her, but they were dissatisfied by the piano at the saloon. The Sixth Doctor tuned the piano to pay for his drinks. (PROSE: Whiskey and Water)
