The Ancient Mariner was a sailor who was shipwrecked and woke up in a cave on an unnamed planet.
Biography[]
The Mariner lived in the cave for years until the Doctor's TARDIS fell into it, and he decided to use this strange, tall blue box as his house, putting up a sign outside reading ANCIENT MARINER'S HOUSE / PLEASE KNOCK — but found he couldn't get inside as the door was locked. The First Doctor, John and Gillian came looking for their ship. After hearing the Mariner's story, they helped him build a house before departing. (COMIC: Shark Bait)
