Aranox

The Aranox were a species from the Hulmaris Reach. They were solitary creatures and avid explorers, who travelled the universe in psychically-powered spacecraft. The Doctor encountered some Aranox during the Last Great Time War.

The Twelfth Doctor later encountered an Aranox in Derbyshire in 1845, who had been stranded on Earth after fleeing from the Time War. The Aranox was controlling Lord Marlborough using psychic technology. It made Marlborough bring it other humans, whose psychic energy it was draining to refuel its ship. The Doctor wired himself up to Aranox's equipment, and his Time Lord mind causing it to overload. The overload set the Aranox on fire, and the Doctor apologised to it if it was the last of its species. (COMIC: Unearthly Things)
