An Arcateenian communicator was an object which was made by the Arcateen to communicate. It could be used to make calls across the stars.
Star Poet gave a communicator to Sarah Jane Smith, after Sarah Jane had helped her to find the way home. Star Poet told Sarah Jane that she could call her whenever she needed help with poetry.
A short time later Sarah Jane, Luke Smith and Maria Jackson were attacked by the Bane. Luke used the Arcateenian communicator to call the Bane. The Bane Mother was destroyed: to her the call was deadly. (TV: Invasion of the Bane)
