An Auton scout was an Auton under the command of the facsimile Channing. The scout was tasked to retrieve the Energy unit taken by UNIT. The Auton killed Corporal Forbes and took the unit and returned to the plastics factory.
He later tried to recover the Swarm Leader from the cottage of Sam Seeley. The scout knocked out Meg Seeley and took the Swarm Leader, but was forced to return to the factory without the Swarm Leader when UNIT arrived.
The Auton was deactivated when the Third Doctor killed the Swarm Leader, (TV: Spearhead from Space) but the Master later regave the scout life when he took the scout out of time at an attempt to kill the Doctors. However, the scout was later destroyed by the Graak. (GAME: Destiny of the Doctors)
