Behind the scenes
A "Mercurian boomerang spoon" was first mentioned in Red Dwarf by Kryten in the 1993 episode Legion. It is likely the boomerang spoon's appearance in Storm Harvest was due to co-author Mike Tucker who was a visual effects designer on Red Dwarf at time of this episode's production.
