Brandis was a lieutenant on Commander Guy Oliver's submarine.
Brandis was controlled by the Slarvians to help them retrieve their eggs, which were in a crashed spaceship at the bottom of the ocean. When the Slarvians were defeated in their aim of conquering Earth by the First Doctor, Susan, Oliver, Edward Grainger and Linda Grainger, Brandis returned to normal but had no memory of these events.
