Brisbane

Brisbane was a city in Queensland, on the east coast of Australia. (AUDIO: The Butcher of Brisbane)

History[]

Tegan Jovanka was born in Brisbane on 22 September 1960. (AUDIO: The Gathering) When Nyssa defined a Zero Room as an "isolated space, cut off from the rest of the universe," Tegan joked that this essentially described Brisbane. (TV: Castrovalva) Following her departure from the TARDIS in London in 1984, Tegan returned to Brisbane, where she was still living in 2006. (TV: Resurrection of the Daleks, AUDIO: The Gathering)

In 2008, John Dixon's father lived in Brisbane. (AUDIO: Cuddlesome)

Brisbane was among the world's major cities where forces of flying Cybermen emerged led by Missy. Taking to the skies, they created a cloud of cyber-pollen above the city. These pollen clouds would then rain upon the graves, recruiting the dead of the Earth into a new Cyberman army. When control of the Cyberman army went to the hands of the recently-converted Danny Pink, he ordered all Cybermen to return to the skies and self-destruct, taking the pollen clouds with them in their combined explosions. (TV: Death in Heaven)

In the 51st century, Magnus Greel's massacre of approximately a hundred thousand earned him the nickname "Butcher of Brisbane." (TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang) During this era, it was known as the Brisbane Dead Zone due to the fact that it was filled with the corpses of the hundreds killed during Zygma energy experiments. (AUDIO: The Butcher of Brisbane)
