Canberra

Canberra was a city in Australia.

In the 1970s, Canberra was the HQ of UNIT's Australian branch. It once sent a package to UNIT London for confirmation of its contents' alien origins. The artefacts were related to the 1930s yacht Constitution III, which met its end reasonably close to Australia. The Third Doctor and Dr Liz Shaw confirmed the objects were alien soon after opening the package.

UNIT Canberra continued to supply UNIT London with assistance as the Doctor, the Brigadier, Liz, and Sergeants Yates and Benton investigated the origins of the artefacts further. (PROSE: The Eye of the Giant [+]Christopher Bulis, Virgin Missing Adventures (Virgin Books, 1996).)

According to Tegan, Canberra was a city of "bold glass and concrete with sweeping curves and huge towers and clean roadways". (PROSE: Cold Fusion [+]Lance Parkin, Virgin Missing Adventures (Virgin Books, 1996).)

In the 21st century, Canberra had a T-Mat centre. It accidentally received a shipment of synthetic protein from New York City which was meant for Moscow. (TV: The Seeds of Death [+]Brian Hayles, Doctor Who season 6 (BBC1, 1969).)

In an alternate 2106 where the New Dalek Paradigm invaded Earth starting with London using a piece of the Eternity Clock, Canberra was among the major cities where Daleks were deposited to via transmat. (GAME: The Eternity Clock [+]Error: Code 2 - no data stored in variables, cache or SMW.)
