Cardiff Central station

Cardiff Central station, or Caerdydd Canolog in Welsh, (TV: Boom Town) was a large railway where children being evacuated from London to the Wales countryside briefly stopped at in 1941. Tom Flanagan was left behind, but the train returned to get him.

The station was part of the Great Western Railway. The station complex included a tunnel, allowing users to pass below the platforms and railway lines, and a booking hall. (TV: Ghost Machine)

In 2006, Mickey Smith arrived from London at Cardiff Central to bring Rose Tyler her passport and ultimately to help Rose, the Ninth Doctor and Jack Harkness stop "Margaret Blaine" from destroying the Earth. (TV: Boom Town)

In the 2000s,[nb 1] Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, and Owen Harper chased Bernie Harris through the station. Though they failed to catch him, Gwen caught his alien quantum transducer and it activated, allowing her to see Tom in 1941. (TV: Ghost Machine)

Footnotes[]

  1. Episodes 1-10 of the first series of Torchwood are set anywhere from 2006-2009 as a result of conflicting evidence shown in the episodes Ghost Machine, Greeks Bearing Gifts, Random Shoes, To the Last Man, Reset, Adrift, Fragments, Exit Wounds, and The New World. As episode 10, Out of Time, is set at the end of December, this means that episodes 11-13 are almost certainly set the year after episodes 1-10.
