Carson's Planet was one of the many planets conquered by the Dalek Empire during their invasion of the Mutter's Spiral. It was later liberated from Dalek occupation by the Earth Alliance. Post-liberation, Carson's Planet became essentially a half-way house, being officially neutral. According to one bartender, the planet was swarming with thieves and murderers as well as spies from both sides, half-jokingly commenting that half of his customers could well have been Dalek replicants. (AUDIO: "Death to the Daleks!")

Behind the scenes[]

Carson's Planet originated as the main setting of Nicholas Briggs' Audio Adventures in Time & Space story Cyber-Hunt, where it was a warzone in the conflict between humanity and the Cyberons. The Audio Visuals Doctor visits Carson's Planet and frees it from the Cyberons, allowing it to be resettled by humans. In 2021, this story was adapted into a novelisation.
