Animators are those real world individuals who draw sequential art meant for electronically-assisted playback, as with a movie projector, video playback device or computer. The end result is thus a series of pictures which will depict movement if shown in the correct order, and at the correct rate of speed. They are distinct from, but significantly related to, comic artists and illustrators, whose work may use similar techniques, but is designed to be static.
This category makes no distinction between web animators and traditional film animators. However, it is worth noting that the majority of animation related to Doctor Who has tended more towards the former than the latter, eschewing traditional cell animation techniques.
