Proposed deletion[]
You will probably not find another admin who wants to remove unnecessary categories more than I do, but I'd like to know the reasoning behind this proposed deletion. We do have categories for Time Lords, so a category for stories including Time Lords doesn't seem to violate Tardis:Category naming conventions? Shambala108 ☎ 15:34, October 27, 2019 (UTC)
- It's ambiguous as to what stories are included as obviously not every story featuring Time Lords are present, the Doctor, the Master etc are excluded. Category:Time Lord television stories states "This category is for episodes which involve the society of Time Lords. Appearances of individual Time Lords such as the Doctor, Romana, Susan Foreman, the Master, or the Rani are not sufficient for inclusion."
- But then look at the contents: Terror of the Autons features a single recurring Time Lord while The Twin Dilemma features a named Time Lord who has other appearances. I expect the situation is the same with other media. If not a deletion, then there needs to be a much stricter definition on what stories are allowed. --Borisashton ☎ 16:19, October 27, 2019 (UTC)

- One way around this might be to bring more subcategories in. So Category:The Master stories etc would also be given "Time Lord stories" directly, or otherwise be placed within a "Stories by Time Lord featured" subcategory, which would itself be placed here.

- Yeah, that seems the best solution. Categories should never have the "this doesn't include such and such" prohibition that some list of appearances pages have. Shambala108 ☎ 19:43, October 27, 2019 (UTC)
- I agree with SOTO's proposition, although I'd add that stories featuring the Doctor and another Time Lord/Time Lord society should go in both Category:Time Lord stories as well as Category:Stories by Doctor. (or their respective subcategories) The same would go for the Master, Romana, etc. Danochy ☎ 10:02, December 14, 2019 (UTC)
