Catherine Schell (born 17th July 1944) played Countess Scarlioni in City of Death. The Hungarian-born actress is best known for playing the shape-shifter Maya in the second season of Space: 1999. Before that, she was known for her appearances in films such as On Her Majesty's Secret Service and The Return of the Pink Panther. Her most recent acting role (according to the Internet Movie Database) was in a 1996 episode of The Knock. In recent years, Schell and her husband have run a bed and breakfast though she still makes occasional Space: 1999-related documentary and public appearances.
