The chief of an African tribe was a fair man. When his tribe found the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan standing over the dead body of Mposi, he listened to their account. He was not superstitious, unlike the tribe's shaman.
The chief was willing to allow the Doctor to find the duba that had supposedly attacked Mposi. He recognised the creature as Harry in disguise, but let the Doctor and his companions leave. His tribe, goaded by the shaman, killed him. (PROSE: To Kill a Nandi Bear)
