A chronometric astrometer was a component of TARDISes. When the relative dimensional computer of the Doctor's TARDIS malfunctioned, the Fourth Doctor looked at the chronometric astrometer, which showed that the ship was quickly going back in time until it reached forty-five hundred million years into Earth's past.
