Mr Cole was the owner of a warehouse where kids who had lost there parents had to work. He attended the funeral of Reverend Aubrey Fairchild because he gave generously to the warehouses. Mercy Hartigan arrived at the funeral with an army of Cybermen, one of which grabbed Mr Cole and put EarPods in his ears. He then took the children to the warehouse along with Mr Scoones, but was killed when Mercy Hartigan overloaded the EarPods. (DW: The Next Doctor)
