The Crimean War (1853-1856) was a conflict fought between the Russian Empire and the British Empire and its allies, including France.
On 25 October 1854, a commonly known part of the War occurred called the "Charge of the Light Brigade," in which light-calvary were accidentally made to attack artillery and were killed outright. Agonal, disguised as an officer, actually caused this so he could feed on and enjoy the agony and death. (PROSE: Blood Harvest) The Doctor was present at the Charge of the Light Brigade. On 11 November 1913, an elderly veteran of the Crimean War stood outside the entrance to the village hall in Farringham, Herefordshire where Joan Redfern and John Smith were attending a dance. Smith gave a donation to the Veterans of the Crimea, a charity for the by then aged survivors of the war. The veteran was later vapourised by Son of Mine. Once the Tenth Doctor regained his Time Lord personality, he exacted judgement on Son of Mine and the Family of Blood for this and other senseless killings with everlasting punishments.
