The Custodian of the Learning Hall was a Gond charged with the maintenance of the Learning Hall, the area of the Gond settlement used to administer tests to the Gond.
Following the arrival of the Second Doctor, Jamie and Zoe, doubt was cast on the relationship between the Krotons and the Gonds. Thara, a Gond convinced of the malevolence of the Krotons, led a party of other doubters into the Learning Hall. They captured the Custodian and demanded he tell them of other ways into the Krotons' chamber. The frightened Custodian told them there was no way in but by selection as a "high mind". When Thara decided to destroy the teaching machines, he and his party tied up the Custodian to prevent him from telling anyone of their plans. (TV: The Krotons)
