Dave Chapman had a long career as a visual effects guru during the 1963 version of Doctor Who. He worked on most serials from The Pirate Planet to Ghost Light, but his first work on the programme was uncredited on The Masque of Mandragora. He also provided Dalek voices in The Curse of Fatal Death.
He also contributed to the charity reference book Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Doctor Who.
Chapman began his career in behind-the-scenes technical positions, before first appearing in front of the camera while serving Anneka Rice's sound engineer on Challenge Anneka. His career has continued on both sides of the camera.
