You may be looking for the pirate de Florres.

Hans de Flores was a Nazi who planned to use the Nemesis to establish the Fourth Reich.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Hans de Flores was a long-standing favourite of Adolf Hitler (AUDIO: A Thousand Tiny Wings) and, in 1938, stood at his side when he ordered what de Flores called "the first giant step towards greatness". He was aware of Hitler's prediction of the arrival of giants. (TV: Silver Nemesis)

After World War II, de Flores was among the Nazis who fled to South America. By 1953, he had found his "home from home" in a budding Nazi colony. Elizabeth Klein thought highly of him, believing that he would be an ideal candidate to become Führer of the Fourth Reich, a position he aspired to. (AUDIO: A Thousand Tiny Wings)

The Nemesis[]

De Flores knew of the Nemesis and was in possession of its validium bow, planning to reunite the Nemesis with its bow and arrow to gain the power to establish the Fourth Reich. In 1988, after Karl informed him that the Nemesis would land in Windsor, he and his men flew to England and waited for the comet to cool down before returning for the statue. Upon doing so, he met the Seventh Doctor and Ace and learnt that the validium arrow was missing.

When the Cybermen attacked, de Flores soon ordered his men to retreat from the one-sided battle, having realised that nothing but Lady Peinforte's golden arrows harmed them. He gathered some gold dust and formed an alliance with the Cybermen, de Flores agreeing to kill Lady Peinforte and Richard Maynarde in return for shared dominion over Earth. After acquiring the arrow, de Flores ordered Karl to kill the Cybermen before the Cyber-Leader informed him that the bow had been stolen.

De Flores had Karl pretend to ally himself with the Cybermen and to hand him over to them, a ruse which the Cybermen believed. Karl later freed de Flores and they went to the warehouse where the Nemesis was being kept. De Flores took the bow from a fallen Cyberman but, before he could reunite Nemesis with it, he and Karl were shot and killed by the Cyber-Leader. (TV: Silver Nemesis)

Legacy[]

De Flores' encounter with the Cybermen was covered in Quest for Power, one of the Cyber-Documents recorded in the CyberHive. (TV: The Ultimate Cybermen)

Alternative timeline[]

In an alternative timeline accidentally created by the Seventh Doctor and Ace in October 1944 in which Nazi Germany won the Second World War, de Flores remained a senior Nazi officer until well into the 1960s. When the proper timeline was restored, Klein was left stranded as an anomaly and joined de Flores in his self-imposed exile. (AUDIO: A Thousand Tiny Wings)
