Derek Moberley

Derek Moberley was a zoologist who was part of a World Ecology Bureau expedition in Antarctica. He and his colleague Charles Winlett discovered a Krynoid pod in the permafrost while digging for samples. After Winlett was infected by the pod, Moberley reluctantly agreed to perform surgery on him to slow down the infection. He was later strangled and killed by the transformed Winlett.
