Lord Ferain was the Director of Allegiance for the Celestial Intervention Agency.
Biography
According to one account, Ferain encountered the Fourth Doctor in the trenches of the Dalek homeworld Skaro (having redirected a transmat beam in which the Doctor and his companions were travelling), giving him a mission to destroy the Daleks. (TV: Genesis of the Daleks, PROSE: Lungbarrow) However, according to another account, this was actually another Time Lord, Valyes, in disguise. (AUDIO: Ascension)
He later had Leela arrested after she used Castellan codes to investigate the House of Lungbarrow on Gallifrey. (PROSE: Lungbarrow)
Behind the scenes
- Ferain's name was not mentioned in the serial. It was first mentioned in the novel Lungbarrow, where he was identified as the same Time Lord from Genesis of the Daleks.
