Constable Cummings was a police officer in Oxfordshire during the 1920s.

Biography[]

Cummings was under the command of Sir Robert Muir, the Chief Constable.

On 11 June 1925, Cummings discovered the Doctor's TARDIS on the north platform of the Cranleigh Halt train station and, believing it to be a genuine police box, had it moved to police headquarters. There, he discovered none of their police box keys would open the door.

The Fifth Doctor, under arrest on suspicion of murder, was taken to the police station, where he produced his key and easily opened the TARDIS doors. He exonerated himself by allowing Muir, Cummings and Sergeant Markham to enter and briefly travel in the TARDIS back to Cranleigh Hall. (TV: Black Orchid)
