Mr Hitch was a man who put together a recovery team to collect an "enormous" reward for finding the sentient superweapon the Hadax Ura. He hired Blueboy as a pilot, Mr Wiremu and Gela as muscle, and the Twelfth Doctor, who had brought his companion Clara Oswald along, as technical expertise. Mr Hitch had known the Doctor from a previous caper which ended in disaster, but convinced him to come because they were using jetpacks. The team discovered the Hadax Ura on the planet Unnamed BX-4. Their landing vessel was shot down by the Hadax Ura, but everyone on board was able to escape with jetpacks. Clara was attacked by pterosaurs and dropped into the Jungle.

When the Doctor went off on his own to look for Clara, Wiremu unwittingly gave their position away to the Hadax Ura, who captured the team with his cybernetically augmented wildlife to become a part of its army against both sides of the war it was built to end. After Clara was recovered and the Hadax Ura appeared to have been shut down easily, this was in fact a trick to bring the Hadax Ura on board the lander as a means of escape. The Hadax Ura took over the body of Mr Hitch, overwriting his mind, but was ejected from the lander's airlock by the Doctor and burnt up on re-entry. (COMIC: Spirits of the Jungle)
