Jenkins was a British Army officer who was part of the unit guarding the crash site of the Chula ambulance near the Albion Hospital. His mother's name was Matilda, and, by January 1941, he was married. He was also one of the first of the group to be transformed into a gas mask zombie. Nancy, who had been captured trying to gain access to the secure area, was placed under Jenkins' care, but she tried desperately to seek an alternate captor once she noticed the officer was displaying the early signs of transformation. When it became clear that Algy was not going to relocate her, she tried to slow the process by getting Jenkins to remember and say the names of his mother and wife. He was, however, transformed into an Empty Child by nanogenes. Nancy kept the infected Jenkins asleep by singing a lullaby to him. He was eventually cured by the Chula nanogenes.
