Ken Grieve (17 March 1942-15 November 2016[1][2]) directed the Doctor Who television story Destiny of the Daleks and also featured in the documentary Davros Connections.

Career[]

A prolific director outside Doctor Who, his other credits included the BBC supernatural series The Omega Factor (1979), an episode of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (1985) and two episodes of Poirot (1993).

Grieve struck up a friendship with Douglas Adams, when he arrived in London with the intention of discussing his upcoming story with Graham Williams. This friendship occurred as he had arrived to do so whilst Williams and the majority of the production were actually away, unbeknownst to him, in Paris filming City of Death. They both went over to Paris spontaneously, and spent time going around the city.[3][4]
