Rondel was a guard on Varos. A former friend of Areta and Jondar, he was assigned to watch over Areta during Jondar's execution. He helped Areta escape, and they later encountered the Sixth Doctor, Peri Brown and Jondar.
They later rounded a corner and encountered a patrol car, but before Rondel could escape, one of the guards shot and killed him. (TV: Vengeance on Varos)
