An unnamed radar technician was on-duty at a UNIT radar station in 1970 when a group of objects appeared his screen.
His superior officer initially dismissed the objects as meteors, but the technician pointed out to her that they were flying in formation. (TV: Spearhead from Space)

- The technician has the honour of being the first character to be depicted in colour in the television programme, not counting the appearance of the Third Doctor in the title sequence.
