During the First Omega Crisis, the Time Lords' Temporal Monitor, by going back along the Doctor's time stream, spotted the Second Doctor running across "the savage and hostile landscape of some primitive planet". "From the pace at which he was moving it seemed very likely that something very nasty was indeed after him." The Doctor was then extracted by the Time Lords to assist the Third Doctor on Earth. Along with the First Doctor in his rose garden, the footage of the Second Doctor was, contrary to popular belief, specially filmed for The Three Doctors rather than being taken from the now missing story The Macra Terror.
