The Discontinuity sections were removed because some users were abusing the term 'discontinuity' and they became speculation hubs. Now the same thing has happened with the Continuity sections. Just look at the Stranger reference here and the Heavenly Host reference here. I'd also like to point out that similar things are happening to the Production Errors sections. I'm A Hydroponic Tomato! I couldn't see the Heavenly Host thing, but I can understand what you're saying. There's a lot of things in the continuity sections which are similarities, rather than continuity. Continuity should be, for example, in the End of Time: "The Doctor last regenerated standing up in The Parting of the Ways" and things like that, and less of similarities, for example, in Dead Man Walking, "Martha previously saw the Doctor aged (DW: The Sound of Drums)". They definitely need a cleanup. or at least we need to define what is meant by continuity.

I would be against putting continuity in the forums. The difference is, discontinuity was a section where, once the main plot hole was noted, people would speculate as to why it wasn't. The continuity sections don't have speculations in them, or perhaps I should say they shouldn't, so there's nothing wrong with them, they are stone cold facts.

As for the production errors, could you provide an example. I've not really seen any production errors where anyone is speculating. --The Thirteenth Doctor 10:02, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

There's always going to be editors seeing connections where there are only vague ones. Often some things that were in Discontinuity are slotted into references or continuity.

I am also completely against moving the continuity sections to the forums.

These things are something to keep an eye out for, and also to educate users on what the sections are for and where to put speculation. Not every user immediately "gets" what every section is for, we need to include, educate and encourage these new users to channel their interests. --Tangerineduel 15:43, August 29, 2010 (UTC)
