Australia's Gibson Desert was where Paul Forbes' Land Rover once broke down. It was somewhere between Darwin and Alice Springs. It was also the crash site of a piece of Skylab, which, thanks to the Seventh Doctor, narrowly missed landing on Forbes.
A known town in the desert was Barrow Creek. (PROSE: Three Steps to the Left)
