Immortal

From TARDIS Index File, the free Doctor Who reference.

The Immortals (also known as Homo superior) had no official name, but were simply referred to as the Gods.

[edit] Summary

The Immortals are thought to be an advanced sub-species of Humans which evolved alongside them. They claimed to be the gods for many early civilizations, though other gods were already claimed, such as Set and most Horned Gods.

Known Immortals include the Haitian gods and the Greek gods, specifically Demeter, Persephone, Hermes, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. Some Witches were apparently Immortals and the Players were also grouped in this category. (PDA: Deadly Reunion)

They may have been created as a result of the Dæmons' experiment on Earth.

[edit] Powers

The Immortals had a varying amount of power, with Zeus being the most powerful known Immortal. They can teleport themselves, but they have difficultly teleporting other beings. They have a multitude of psychic powers, including mind control and empathy. Immortals can travel through another plane, probably the Time Vortex. Individual Immortals have control over certain powers, such as Poseidon's control over the water. They can also shape-shift, but have a base form which they return to. (PDA: Deadly Reunion)

The Immortals are immortal, but with vague specifications. They can stop their aging, but they can seem to be whichever age they like. Immortals are very tough, but Hermes claims he could be killed by conventional means.

Hades had hordes of monsters (such as the satyrs and a gorgon) in his employment, but it is unclear whether they are Immortals, mental constructs or something else. Hermes mentions some were 'gods', but no creatures were specifically classified. For example, the satyrs weren’t very powerful and could be recreated after being annihilated, but one was able to maintain a mental force field.
