The Tauride is back to its natural, friendly self, but is stuck in the wall... and the Doctor is unconscious!
With the Tauride stuck in the wall, Martha resorts to bull jokes to appeal to the beast's strong sense of humour. The laughing vibrations free the Tauride, wake the Doctor and leave a hole in the wall from which they can all escape.
The parks guarding (the Cyclops, Medusa and Cerberus) are still waiting for them. While the Tauride creates a distraction, the Doctor (having grabbed a souvenir Olympic torch) and Martha head towards an Aztec temple made entirely of chocolate. A distressed woman outside is fearful about the fate of her son and others in the school party that have not yet returned from the Aztec pyramid, especially since she herself was attacked by an Aztec priest.
On a video screen in the park the watcher broadcasts images of Martha kicking an old lady and the Doctor brandishing a gun, labelling them both criminals. To avoid detection, they enter the Aztec pyramid, stopping to hire a change of costume from the shop inside. Inside the Doctor discovers a hidden chamber where the "watcher" is an eye-patched, green giant towering over a cage full of children. As Martha releases the children, the giant turns his attention to the Doctor...

- Supporting the series of collectible Doctor Who trading cards, the magazine carried a regular four page, individually titled comic strip of the Tenth Doctor's adventures.
- The artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine and, as did Doctor Who Adventures, reflected the appeal to readers younger than those catered to by Doctor Who Magazine.
- The Battles in Time comic strip sought to reinforce the association of its Doctor with the one seen on screen with "props" from the TV series: blue/brown suit, sonic screwdriver, psychic paper and his intelligent glasses.
