Jane Hampden was a school teacher at Little Hodcombe and a friend of Ben Wolsey. She opposed Sir George Hutchinson's war games on the grounds that they were becoming increasingly dangerous. She helped the Doctor defeat the Malus. (DW: The Awakening)

Jane accompanied the Doctor and Will Chandler on his quest to return Will to his own time. After returning Jane to her time, she helped him in getting placed on the Board of Governors at Hexen Bridge School. (PDA: The Hollow Men)
