Joanna Lumley is a British actress, born 1st May 1946 in India. She played the Thirteenth Doctor in the Comic Relief sketch The Curse of Fatal Death in 1999; although unofficial, this makes Lumley one of only two women to have played the Doctor to date, the other being Arabella Weir. Outside of Doctor Who, she is perhaps best known for playing Patsy Stone in Absolutely Fabulous, Sapphire in the sci-fi series Sapphire & Steel and Purdey in The New Avengers. She also had a small role in the James Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service.
