Jonah Summerfield I was the earliest known ancestor of Bernice Summerfield.
He was born in 1930. When he was eighteen, he got a woman pregnant and Jonah Summerfield II was born in 1948. He was called up for national service in the 1950s. He lived to see his grandson Valentine Summerfield. He died of an industrial accident in 1975.
