Jonas Kaan was an admiral on Hydra. The First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright and Ian Chesterton were taken to him as they were thought to be spies for the Voord. In the attack of the Fortitude, he was knocked unconscious. He lost his son and wife to the Voord. He was supposedly killed whilst escaping the Voord but Ian was reunited with him before their planned execution. (AUDIO: Domain of the Voord)
