Kel was a council bin man who worked in Dame Kelly Holmes Close. He was kind enough to help people push their cars which were stalled by the heat absorbed by the Isolus pod, and proud and conscientious of his work to make the street perfect for the passing of the Olympic Torch. While doing this work, he unknowingly covered the pod in hot tarmac, applied with pride, but this heat and love wasn't quite enough to continue the lonely Isolus on its journey. Rose dug up the pod with Kel's pickaxe and threw it in the Olympic flame that the Tenth Doctor carried to the 2012 Olympics to warm and charge up and the Isolus left. (TV: Fear Her)
