Malpha was one of the representatives on the Galactic Council who planned to conquer the Solar System with the aid of the Daleks. He was last to arrive at their first conference, but took a leading role in that meeting. He had a lesser presence in subsequent meetings. He was one of the few to survive the Daleks' treachery. The First Doctor helped him to escape to his own people and warn them about the Daleks' invasion plans and organise resistance.
Malpha was tall and well built. He had a face covered with a network of dark veins on pale skin, like a patchwork. (TV: Mission to the Unknown, TV: The Daleks' Master Plan)

- Robert Cartland played Malpha in TV: Mission to the Unknown and was uncredited.[source needed]
- Some confusion has arisen over the fact that Bryan Mosley acted in The Daleks' Master Plan under the names of Bryan Mosely (Ep. 11), Brian Edwards (Ep. 2) and Buddy Windrush (Ep. 7), meaning that different episodes of the serial apparently credit a different actor as the actor who played Malpha.
