Mammoths were a species of proboscidean mammal native to Earth in humanity's prehistory. They evolved from elephants which migrated from Africa to the north and adapted to Europe, Northern Asia including Russia, and North America in the Ice Age.

K9 once encountered some mammoths on an unnamed planet in another dimension, partially inhabited by ex-Tellac miners.
