Mark Eden (born 14 February 1928)[1] played Marco Polo in the Doctor Who serial Marco Polo. Nearly fifty years later, Eden played BBC One Controller Donald Baverstock in the 2013 docu-drama, An Adventure in Space and Time. He also notably reprised his role as Marco Polo for linking segments for the unofficial Loose Cannon reconstruction of Marco Polo.

Eden is most famous for playing Alan Bradley on Coronation Street. His numerous other television appearances included roles in Armchair Theatre, The Prisoner (in the episode It's Your Funeral, which featured fellow Marco Polo co-stars Derren Nesbitt and Martin Miller), The Avengers, The Saint, Out of the Unknown, Till Death Do Us Part, Z-Cars and Man in a Suitcase.
