Mark Eden (born 14 February 1928)[1] played Marco Polo in the Doctor Who serial Marco Polo. Nearly fifty years later, Eden played BBC One Controller Donald Baverstock in the 2013 docu-drama, An Adventure in Space and Time. He also notably reprised his role as Marco Polo for linking segments for the unofficial Loose Cannon reconstruction of Marco Polo.
His numerous other television appearances included roles in Quatermass and the Pit, The Avengers, The Saint, The Prisoner (in the episode It's Your Funeral, which also featured his fellow Marco Polo co-stars Derren Nesbitt and Martin Miller), Out of the Unknown and Man in a Suitcase. However, Eden is most famous for playing Alan Bradley on Coronation Street from 1986-89.
