Mary Minett lived in the village of Hawkswick in the early 20th century. She was the midwife there, as well as a nurse and aid to the local veterinarian. She also was empathic. When the Eighth Doctor visited the village, she helped him investigate the strange happenings at Hawkswick Hall. She touched the recuperating TARDIS, feeling its pain. Mary fell in love with the Doctor, but he did not reciprocate her feelings, departing Hawkswick after Dr Banham was killed. (PROSE: Casualties of War)
