Mike Tucker was a Visual Effects Assistant on Doctor Who from 1985 to 1989, and Miniature Effects Supervisor when the series returned in 2005. During the 2005 season he had the distinction of being the only person to have worked on both "classic" and "new" Doctor Who.

- "Ace! - the Inside Story of the End of an Era". Co-written with Sophie Aldred, this book describes Tucker's work on Doctor Who during the 1980s. (Published by Virgin Publishing in 1996. (ISBN 1-85227-574-X).)
He has written about his work for the series in the following issues of the magazine

- Volume 2: "Miniature Effects in the Doctor Who Christmas Special" (Describes work on "The Christmas Invasion")

(Additionally, Volume 3 contains Tucker's article on his work on a documentary about the last flight of the Space Shuttle "Columbia", whilst Volume 9 contains his article on the restoration of the "Heart of Gold" from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.)
